Vedic Cosmos has a panel of prominent Sanskrit scholars from different philosophical schools, such as Dvaita, Advaita and Viśiṣṭhadvaita, who are well versed in Sanskrit literature, Agamas, Dharma-śāstras, Purāṇas & Itihāsas, Nyāya, Vyākaraṇa, linguistics etc. We with our board of editors and researchers carry out an in-depth analytical and editorial research for all the editions that we publish. As such, we do not follow a particular school of thought or philosophy. We rather take into account various commentaries belonging to the different schools of thought and present the content in our books from an authentic, non-sectarian standpoint.

Our ancient seers and sages have preserved the treasure of transcendental knowledge in sacred scriptures for generations, which are available to us even today. Our mission is to provide the future generation with the authentic interpretation of these scriptures without losing their true essence. We therefore give the credit of authorship to the original revealers of these sacred texts such as Maharṣi Vyāsa and Maharṣi Vālmīki and not to any individual or translators.

This is a book on the philosophy of Yoga, which has been systematized and organized by Maharṣi Patañjali into 196 aphorisms called the Yogasutras. The ultimate aim of yogasutras is to help one attain enlightenment through the path of Yoga, wherein health is a by product. Study of the Yoga-Sūtras can be of great value as it reveals the commonalities with their own practices and sheds light upon the universality of Yoga practice as a means to attain wisdom.

For the philosophically minded reader, these Sūtras are a highly informative resource on the nature of Consciousness, the emergence of natural and mental phenomena, the mind’s modes and its nature, the power and efficacy of compassion and kindness, the flow of time, causality, and the ultimate meaning of human embodiment, as espoused by the Yoga tradition of ancient India.

For a reader who has only just begun his or her study of Yoga and who has not yet had the fortune of studying it with an accomplished teacher, it is advised to take a Sūtra or set of Sūtras and contemplate or meditate deeply upon its content, until its meaning is understood in the clarity of introspection.

Looking within and allowing the mind to settle naturally without strain renders it peaceful and calm. Only when the mind is calm can it begin to sense the profound reality concealed in its own depth. This is the essence of Yoga.

The legacy of these traditions/Yogasutras continues to inspire and enlighten, awaken and pacify the minds of suffering beings. The goal described by Maharṣi Patañjali is the ultimate meaning (puruṣārtha) and goal of all existence. Having attained it, a person is considered ‘kuśala’ (fortunate), a state which other traditions describe as ‘kṛta-kṛtya’ (having achieved what was to be achieved).

Whatever a person’s religious or philosophical background may be, even if he is an atheist and materialist who accepts only the existence of the physical body, if he practises Yoga he will attain accomplishment. Thus Yoga is ultimately beyond the confines of any specific tradition or view.

Our Ramayana is mostly based upon 4 Sanskrit commentators, namely – Kataka, Bhushana, Shiromani and Tilaka.

Ramayana is called an ‘Itihasa’, which literally means ‘this is how it happened’. Ramayana is a well-documented history of events that happened well around 12209 BCE, which is roughly 14,000 years back, as per a well renowned historian, Nilesh Oak.

ur version is based on Valmiki Ramayana written in Sanskrit, which is called as ‘Moola Ramayana’ famously.

There is no restrictions for anyone to read or learn Valmiki Ramayana, as it is not Sruti (Vedas), but a Smriti text. Even the most sort after Telugu version of Ramayana was written by a woman named ‘Aatukuri Molla’ and the famous Tamil Ramayana was penned by a non-Brahman male poet named ‘Kamban’.

The Aryan and Dravidian split was created just 150 years ago to hasten the Christian missionary activities by the breaking-India forces like Britishers and Jesuits to divide and rule India. In fact, Ravana was a Brahmana and Rama was a Kshatriya.
